TEXT: LEVITICUS 10:1-20
MEMORY VERSE: “And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.” (KJV) (Leviticus 10:1-2)
God wants us to be on fire for Him, and His desire is that our fire will not go out day and night. God detests lukewarmness; He is not happy with lukewarm Christians. He admonished them in the book of Revelation that He would spit them out if they remain lukewarm and refuse to do anything about it.
Usually, people engage in making strange fire when they cannot pay the price of having the real fire. Today, there are many so-called men and women of God who are not ready to pay the price for God’s power and, because of that, they have dabbled into strange fire by seeking evil power to do God’s work and to receive so-called revelations and visions. They are not afraid of the day of reckoning because they have allowed the devil to destroy their conscience. No wonder Jesus said some people will come on the last day and claim to have done miracles in His name, but He will tell them to depart from Him because they are workers of iniquity.
There are children of God too who are not ready to pay the price of God’s power, who run after prophets and prophetesses all around, and they simply milk them or make merchandise of them. Many of them organize vigils for people; they always see terrible revelations and visions that put fear in them so they can depend on them perpetually. That is nothing but strange fire. When we can no longer trust God but are collecting candles, rings, necklaces, perfumes and concoctions from herbalists who call themselves prophets, we are engaging in strange fire. When we claim to be working for God and singing in the choir and we are still living in sin, we are engaging in strange fire. Please beware. Repent before it is too late.
WISDOM NUGGET:
If you refuse to pay the price of God’s power, you will live off miracles of prophets and prayer contractors.
