TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 3:1–21
MEMORY VERSE: “I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” (KJV) (1 Corinthians 9:26–27)
I just watched a successful, blessed, and very rich but blind musician on television in one of the “Turning Point” programs by Pastor Oladokun. The musician was born blind, but he made up his mind to rise to the top in spite of his adversity. He had so many things that worked against him, but he refused to give up. Life naturally paves the way for those who make up their minds never to give up—those who purpose not to stay on the floor but desire to rise to the top. You can rise to the top in spite of your adversities and misfortunes. So many things may be against you, but God is for you, and that is the only support you need to be all that God wants you to be. Stop regretting what you would have been or what you would have done if only you had this or that in your favour. It is not too late now to be all that you want to be.
Instead of regretting and calling a pity party, you can step out right now, this very hour and do something meaningful with your life. The life you have left is enough to be all that God wants you to be. Often we look for someone who will lift us out of our predicament and possibly zoom us to the limelight, but such people are rare. You will need serious determination, faith in God, diligence, discipline, and persistence to rise to the top. The top is not meant for a privileged few; it is meant for all of us. No matter your disadvantage, you can focus on the little advantage you have and trust God to lift you. Get serious about what you are doing now, be the best in your field, never allow a day to pass without adding value to your life. Make up your mind to be a blessing to others. As you add value and put smiles on people’s faces, the sky shall not be your limit, in Jesus’ name. Stop complaining; stop waiting for people to help you. Get ready to confront your challenges and push yourself to the top.
