TEXT: JOHN 21:1–25
MEMORY VERSE: “So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.” (KJV) (John 21:15)*
Love is not static; it is dynamic, progressive. Every child of God has a level of love for the Lord and the Kingdom one way or another, but the level of our love differs. The truth is, we do not have the same level of love. That is why God wants us to grow in love for Him and His Kingdom. Jesus asked Peter whether he loved Him more than his vocation—the fishing or the fishes.
There will always be a test of our love. As far as God is concerned, we are not truly in love until we pass the love test. God wants us to love Him with all our hearts, all our minds, and all our souls. In fact, Jesus said that is the greatest commandment. Love is no love until we can prove it by our actions. God will always test us to know how much we love Him. I have always believed that no one has a given problem but a love problem. People only give according to the level of love they have for God. It is possible to give without loving, but it is not possible to love without giving. One of the characteristics of love is that love gives, gives, and gives again. Anyone who claims to love God and cannot give Him their money (be it tithes or offerings) is merely pretending. Love is fake without giving. The more you love God, the more you will tell others about Him and win more souls to His Kingdom. The more you love Him, the more you will want His Kingdom to move forward, and the Kingdom cannot move forward without giving. The truth is, many people love God, but their level of love is too low. It is time to step up our love for God.

The level of your love for God determines the level of the sacrifice you are willing to make.
