TEXT: ROMANS 5:1-21
MEMORY VERSE: “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” (KJV) (Romans 5:17)
We have this clear understanding from today’s text that God saved us and left us here so we can reign on earth. The will of God for us is that we should begin to reign here in this world now, once we have given our lives to Jesus Christ. God has not redeemed us so that we can be enslaved or trampled upon. Just as God reigns in heaven, He has also put us here on earth so we may establish our dominion. “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.” (Psalm 115:16)
God has given us this world so that we can reign in it. We are not to live here as nobodies. We must refuse to carry ourselves as people who are unimportant. We are not useless; we are the hope of our generation. We are unique, we are special, and we are here to reign over situations and circumstances—in business, education, politics, ministry, and health. That is God’s will for us. The word of God says as Christ is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). As kings we also need to realize that we have authority; where the word of a king is, there is power and no one can question his authority (Eccl. 8:4). Beloved, if you are truly a child of God, you are truly a king—not because you decided it, but because He made you so. You ought to carry yourself with that mentality. We are all kings as children of God; it is our heritage, not just for pastors or bishops. How will you begin to carry yourself and conduct your affairs now that you realize you are a king? It is vital to walk in the consciousness of who you are in Christ. He died to make you reign, but you must live with that awareness. Psalm 49:20 says, “Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.”
WISDOM NUGGET:
Wisdom enthrones, but foolishness dethrones.
PRAYER POINT:
Whatever has robbed me of my destiny in God, I destroy in Jesus’ name. Whatever is contrary to God’s plan for my life as a king, I command it to be destroyed in Jesus’ name.
